The American Presidency FDR to Nixon to Biden: The Evolution of Executive Power Under the Modern Presidency
In my first year, I took an elective course on the American Presidency. The course explored the history of the US Presidency, digging into the specifics of each president, but more specifically focusing on the office itself and how it has evolved since the founding of the nation. The final paper was an exploration of the ways the Presidency had evolved from the founding to present day. My argument followed the expansion and diminishment of presidential powers under FDR and Nixon, and the influence of Congress and the Courts, and what that has meant for the office today.
